I am going to execute a protocol of corticosterone administration in rats for which I'll have to prepare a solution of corticosterone in a vehicle of saline (0,9%) with Tween 80 (20% v7v). The solution will be injected subcutaneosly for several days (about two weeks), so I want to know if I can prepare a stock solution the first day and use it for the rest of the treatment.
I did not work with corticosterone, but I did with cortisole and other steroids, my experience is that daily prepared solutions are the best. I used already prepared solutions of steroids for injections, so after the vial is open, kept at 4 C, it can be stable for few weeks. Since the solution is concentrated I did the dilutions on daily bases.
