I am working on a project analysing pure HL60 cultures with one untreated sample and one treated with retinoic acid. I performed flow cytometry with fluorescent markers to detect CD71 and CD11b on cells, but I am confused as to What kind of cell in The acute promyelocytic leukemia culture would express both of these markers in terms of differentiation?
CD71 is the trasferrin receptor; it is present on all proliferating cells that are consuming iron during cell-division process
CD11b is an integrin family member which pairs with CD18 to form the CR3 heterodimer. CD11b is expressed on the surface of many leukocytes including monocytes, neutrophils, natural killer cells, granulocytes and macrophages, as well as on 8% of spleen cells and 44% of bone marrow cells. For HL60 under the effect of retinoic acid, it is an early differentiation marker.
So to come specifically to the co-expression, it might be the stage of early differentiation which is still capable of proliferation and not yet an end cells

In order to investigate the differentiation process of monocytes (THP-1) into macrophages induced by PMA, I have measured CD14, CD71 and CD11b expression by flow cytometry. CD14 and CD11b is up regulated, while CD71 is down regulated.
