I aim to pulse/feed human cells with vegetable oils.
Please can someone advise a good solvent/compound for dissolving the vegetable oils which will not harm the cells. If you have any protocols that would be very much appreciated.
I have dissolved vegetable oils in various organic solvent mixtures, fatty acid-free BSA and some detergents with mixed results. Please advise if you have used these previously, and any recommendations.

You may use FBS and warming the solution in a bath, however the dissolution depend on the oil. Also can think about carriers such as albumins, cyclodextrins. there are also bio compatible emulsifier which can be used for this test.

More specifically, we are looking at lipid antigen presentation in a dendritic cell line.
We are interested in peanut oil lipids (containing oleic acid, linoleic acid etc). We aim to pulse peanut oils onto the DCs and perform (fatty acids etc) subsequent antigen presentation assays.
During antigen pulsing, our APCs are suspended in RPMI media containing 10% FBS, Hepes, pen-strep.
We aim to pulse the oils at a range of 10-100ug per ml of APC suspension.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
