I am designing a Fabry Perot filter with two alternating materials such as High refractive index material and air as a second material(low refractive index). Everything goes fine when I use the normal equation for constructive interference with m=1 (equation: m.lambda/4*n). But when I use high values of m, I am not able to obtain required transmission peak.  Can anyone help in that? why I am not able to design a filter with air as low refr. index material.

Actually, I am doing all this to have thick layers (around 1 microns) in order to meet the requirement of conventional lithography technique.
