I was wondering if I was thinking about this right:
My DNA-Protein Complex would break if I used the phenol-chloroform extraction which would completely mess up my experiment. So, my other option would be ethanol. The DNA-Protein complex would be safe and not break or denature. I need both to come together as a complex, not individually. My resources are limited, so my only other option would be NaCl.
Is this right, or am I mistaken in my thought process. This is my first time working with (or against, depending on the way you look at it) DNA-Protein complexes.

Hi Group: That is right Chloroform extract any organic compound in the sample.
Wait, wouldn't chloroform harm the protein? What about the Phenol? I need to preserve the protein.
