Is there any possibility to use capillary blood for ELISA? I have read an article that made use of blood from ear lobe; but I didn't see the detail of the protocol. Would anyone tell me about the detail of this technique so that I can make use of it for my cystic echinococcosis study project? Thank You.
it should be feasible...and desirable if you are collecting blood close to the source where it might be coming from (rather than venous blood where the biomarkers are diluted).
However collecting enough volume of whole blood might be an issue, since ELISAs require that plasma or serum be used, not whole blood...

The above link has the method for collection of capillary blood. You will need to be aware there is a chance that interstial fluid may be collected as well, diluting your sample.
