I'm breaking into a new research area, and having some difficulty collecting information on electroactive materials.

I want to align a small wire (100 microns diameter) with a flat cross section in aqueous solution over a payload (10 microns diameter), pick the payload up, then release it some distance away. The wire is conductive, so it would be natural to use a method based on changes in electric field. For example, the wire is lowered onto the payload at Location A so that they are in physical contact. The payload attaches to the wire when current is applied. The wire and attached payload are moved to Location B. The current is no longer applied, and the payload releases. I can also use light to attach and detach the payload, but I cannot change temperature or solution chemistry. Ideally, the electroactive polymer (or another material) is thin and optically transparent.

Do you know of any good review papers that may help me search for such materials? It would also help if you could recommend some keywords that would help me search the literature more efficiently.
