I have received an email like this five days ago. I did some taska for them to be eligible for working with them. Now, I am waiting to see the results. Then, I can decide to trust them or not.

I also received this invitation, however I'm not inclined to respond. Having received a number of dubious invitations to virtual conferences in the past, I've become very skeptical of 'out-of-the-blue' offers like this. I'd be interested to hear the outcome of others' experience with them.

I got a mail with an assessment test attached. Completed the test then sent to them. Just received a congratulations mail with contract documents to sign. Fingers crossed!

They had projected it may take up to two weeks but I eventually got their response in eight days.

I received the same invitation. Even if I am not willing to accept, I would appreciate knowing about your experience. Be aware that, based on my scientific collaboration with Chinese researchers, I expect it will not be an easy work, possibly due to the different language structure.

I expect the service offered here is an extension of the "service" being offered more widely by a mushrooming number of start-up companies in Asia to less-established academics looking to improve their profile by paying to publish articles "refereed" by more established academics. EditSprings, like these companies, can establish reputation by enlisting the services of reputable academics abroad. It appears unlikely that EditSprings has anything close to the brokerage skills which would be required to ensure quality of reviewing and language correction. I did similar work for science researchers in Korea for many years and I believe helped many to get their work published in international journals. So the model works, but the operation I worked for was run out of a research institute, not privately.

Thank you for that Colin and Paolo, I thought it would be something in those lines. It would just be interesting to know of anyone who actually got to work with them and what their experience has been like.

I received the same invitation today, and by visiting their website I noticed that they claim to have native English speakers revisers, and I'm not!

I'm afraid I can't make any suggestions because as you see in the trail, many people seem to have received invitations but we haven't heard from anyone actually working with them. I guess the best way to find out is to go ahead and see se what it is like. You can scrutinise the contract and then have more information towards making a decision?

I would treat the request as mail bombing. At first I assumed I received the invitation because I did coauthor some papers with Chinese researchers, which could have made some sense, however, the fact that I am not a native English speaker does not

Last week I received a manuscript from them having 4857 words requiring a 2-day language editing at the rate of 0.018USD/word. Completed the task and sent back in less than two days. I just got paid via PayPal. Please, take note, It was a very tedious task! The writing was really poor and I ended up doing more than language editing. My singular experience!

$5.46/hr. Egads! That is a pretty low minimum wage!

Thank you Nicholas Adimah for your experience, it is the first first hand experience of working with them that we have and it is enlightening. I find it a strange system to pay per word, when we know that editing is about the syntax, the context and the meaning. I can see that took a long time and quite a lot of work.

I received an invitation last week. They mention four work programs (Language editing, Scientific editing, Peer review, Journal recommendation) and the remuneration rates for each, asking me to choose one or more. Not sure if I should go for it if (from the earlier answers on this thread) the deadlines are this rigid, the corrections this many and the pay this low.

I got the same invitation from Editsprings organization to act as part time editor with several payment choices according to the selected duty. The highest payment is $100-$150 for scientific review of 3000 words. I opened their web page: https://www.editsprings.com/en/ , which is very impressive and attractive. I still hesitated to accept this invitation. I hope some one encourages us to accept this invitation at least for trial and evaluation.

I received the mail first time on 29th July 2021 and they haven't turned up. Later, this 21st Mar 2022 I got another mail with joining as part time editor (said sorry for the delayed response...). By seeing at the payment structure compared to earlier they have enhanced a bit....

I also received similar mail from them around March 2021......I filled all the forms they asked me to fill and submitted. They assured me they will be sending manuscripts for review....... However till date I haven't heard from them.

I also got an invite and am hesitating. Especially because I am a historian (of environmental history) and the papers seem to be scientific ones. Can anyone say which subjects are covered in these papers? I would not feel competent to edit papers in chemistry, for example. Thanks!

I also got such an offer which sounded good, as I do so many hours of unpaid conservation work and also unpaid editing for journals, it would be useful to be paid for some editing, but when I tried to go to the site I was told I first needed to download some app (rapidforms or something like that?) before continuing, and am hesitant to do so. Has anyone acquired this app and is it genuine?

I just go a request a couple of days back. But the payment is really low. They asked me to send a CV. I cannot locate the editors who are listed on the website. If someone can help?
