I read in different papers that the OD600=0.1 for E. coli is equivalent to 1x10^8 cell/ml. Though I made some serial dilution and read the count the cell, also took the OD600 and I got different results (0.3 = 1x10^8). I was wondering if this depend more in the type of strain or they meant to say 1x10^8 CFU/ml, which I know is different from total cells.
