I often use Dry Needling (DN) to treat Myofascial Syndrome with is very frequent in Chronic Pain.
Some of the patients are treated with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA).
Is this condition a problem to use DN?

@Rault I would settle for a myofacial release technique and rest for the part that experience the chronic pain, and there after prescribe exercises with very low intensity but increase with time. ASA may help block the pain pathway in the brain but for a while.
Most patients are taking low-dose aspirin (ASA 100mg). In this case, dry needling is not a problem at all. There is no need for patients to stop taking ASA. However, if patients are taking Coumadin, they should stop taking the medication a few days before dry needling. One thing I would recommend going further than dry needling is try fascia hydrodissetion. Read Dr Stecco's book.
DN is a local mechanical therapy which does interact with inflammatory molecules which are inhibited by ASA, but the only thing that DN could do is to produce more inflammatory molecules locally, so there would be no problem in practising DN on a person which is taking ASA
