Doublecortin mRNA expression in adult human striatum

I have seen extensive doublecortin (DCX) mRNA expression in single cell RNAseq data generated from the human striatum. (And some other markers usually associated with neuronal migration, such as FXYD6, HTR3A... ) How can this be interpreted? Do we know if DCX may have distinct functions in the adult brain tissue as well, not necessarily associated with neuronal proliferation?
