Dear community,
I need to remove the vancomycin from wastewater and it seems there is no good methods to quantify vancomycin from a complicated sample.
I was planning to use a kit to check if there is any antibiotics in the sample, and the kit exploits Bacillus stearothermophilus. Some opinion says vancomycin cannot inhibit B. stearothermophilus, but the bacteria is Gram positive (so should be vulnerable under vancomycin) and I do not have a better choice.
Does anybody know if vancomycin will work?
Many thanks.
