I cannot understand the time delay during electrospinning. Can you please elaborate? However, time of deposition on the collector only affect the density of nanofiber deposited, porosity and pore-size distribution.
This should not matter, as long as you do not allow an excess of solution to build up at the tip of the spinneret. I would recommend wiping the tip clean just before recharging it. In my experience a large droplet can cause Taylor cone instability (leading to anomalous fibre size/distribution) and you may even find the entire drop is drawn onto the collector, in which case the solvent will dissolve your previous fibres.
