Firstly, you could consider that which type mixture when you put Cd in the ZnO, Cd nanopartical in ZnO? CdO@ZnO? or some Cd atom on ZnO crystall? Secondly, there is a thing making me misunderstanding that Cd-ZnO NFs has lower absorbance than ZnO, as you stated. How to understand the word "lower"? sometimes we calculate the tauc-plot using the uv-vis spec. and we obtained the energy gap. Then, do the compairtion bewteen the ZnO and Cd-ZnO. By the way, CdO is not a merit materials using in the photochem, why you dont choose CdS?

i am so Thank you for the respond, Here are some explanations about my research :

1. I use cadmium solution (Cadmium nitrate) as a doping for my zno solution (zinc acetate). Then i mix them up with PVA to make nanofiber with fto as substrate.

2. can we judge from the uv-vis spectra that i got? because it showed that cd-zno has lower absorbance than zno. or do i have to use tauc plot first?

As far as the data are concerned, there should be no significant difference in the forbidden bandwidth when going from uv-vis, since all four materials undergo a decrease in absorbance near 300 nm. If you go for the tauc plot, you'll also find that it probably won't be too much different (~0.1 eV). By the way, is this powder uv-vis? The quality of this data doesn't look very high.

If this is uvvis data obtained from a sample you dissolved in a liquid cell, you should consider the concentration in the liquid cell and the sedimentation behavior of the colloid.

In the end, if i were you, i could not give the conclusion about the decrease of absorbtion in vis-region.
