I have depositing the block copolymer thin film on Si and ITO coated glass substrate by dip coating. Film thickness varies with concentration of solution and speed with which the substrates are withdrawn. does it vary with wet time/dwell time also?
Yes, it would vary with wet time/dwell time. The mass transport of block copolymer thin film on Si and ITO coated glass substrate by dip coating is a function of wet time/dwell time, till uniform thickness forms.
Thanks Habib Sir, As I know this is the time in which the molecules of solution interacts with substrate So, on increasing the wet time thickness of film should increase upto some value. am I right? and according to that it will be different for different substrate though all the parameters are same. is it?
The increase of the wet time would increase thickness of film in a linear manner until the thickness attains a steady state value. The slope of the linear thickness would be different for different substrates . Likewise, the steady state value of the developed thin film would be different for different substrates, along with the all the parameters are invariants during the wet time duration.
is there any formula/relation between thickness and wet time? what is the basic reason for increasing thickness with wet time? there is an equation named Landau and Levich equation to calculate thickness of film but there is no parameter for wet time.
