HPLC that I am working with operates in a laboratory which doesn't have any air conditioner and thus, at a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. Besides, the equipment is exposed to direct sunlight for certain periods of the day. Would this affect the equipment significantly and also the results obtained?
Yes..and it will affect particularly your column compartment temperature = quicker elution than you wanted and/or loss of peak resolution in compounds that elute very close to each other.
Put a couple fans around if you can, or change your method accordingly (e.g. if its a gradient elution method, slow that ramp down ;) )

The conditions above affect mainly the separation of sensitive compounds such as flavonoids? I have a question for you does your auto-injector has a cool system? Myricetin for example is a flavonoid and must be injected in a cool injector. The temperature you mentioned will affect the mobile phase and affect the HPLC performance as well. If I were you plan to work in spring time or a good weather. The price of air condition went up, the good AC is about L.E 10.000 that is cheaper compared to the price of HPLC that may be lost in the above condition.
