measuring Mn, Fe and Cu in 0.1 M PO4 buffer pH = 7.4
will the PO4 at this concentration interfere with the ICP-MS analysis?
also according to equil modeling the following precipitates could form:
MnHPO4
FePO4
Cu3(PO4)2
would the ICP-MS detect these metals if they are present as solids?

Depends. Ich they are still present in suspension and the particles small enough, ICPMS will certainly "see" them. It will also potentially "see" PO2+ molecular ions interfering with the Cu-isotopes and PN+, PO+ molecular ions interfering with Mn and Fe. Depending on the respective concentration ratios of P vs. Mn, Fe, Cu and instrument used you may obtain biased results.
Hello, in addition to previous answer,It should be especially noted that HCl, HClO4, H3PO4 and H2SO4 may cause considerable spectral problems. Polyatomic interferences are caused by Cl+, P+, S+ ions in conjunction with other matrix elements like Ar+, O+, H+. Examples are: 35Cl40Ar on 75As and 35Cl16O on 51V. The avoidance of HCl, HClO4, H3PO4 and H2SO4 in ICP-MS is paramount. So PO4 presence Is problematic at least for accurate Cu detection. See attached for more info.

thank you all for your responses. we do no acidify our 0.1M PO4 samples to prevent formation of H3PO4.
we also did some tests at 10-3 M PO4 and results were similar to 0.1M, i would think that a factor of 100 dilution would eliminate major interference of 0.1
