Does phthalic acid ester (PAE) have any toxic effect on plant tissues?

Apart from the endocrine distruption of PAE in humans, does it have any toxic effect on plant tissues? I would also appreciate if some can provide a brief protocol to determine PAE content in soil and plant tissues.
