Hi! I am new to Circular Dichroism. I know that the CD signal is measured in units deg.cm2.(dmol res)-1. This is then converted into molar residue ellipticity(MRE) that reports the molar dichroism for individual protein residues instead of whole protein molecules. I am trying to follow a paper in which they have done CD for the same protein but with less concentration of protein (5 micromolar). Their MRE value is around -13. I have used the same parameters to setup the CD experiments but used a different concentration of the same protein (8 micromolar). I have observed an MRE value around -6 instead of -13. Can somebody please explain if MRE values vary according to protein concentration?
