I am recently analyzing the bile acid composition in our mice, and I observed about 2% deoxycholic acid there... I am not sure if deoxycholic acid composition change in the gallbladder (for example from 2% to 1%) actually lead to a major physiological change... I checked some literature, if I am correct, it seems DCA is a 'secondary bile acid' which should in theory only appear in the intestine, serum and hepatocyte? Why it appears in the gallbladder... Anyone has suggestions or explanations about this?
