Does anyone know, if macrophages that express MHCII following IFNg contact down regulate MHCII again? Is there any information available cocerning the kinetics of MHCII expression on macrophages?
I actually don't know much about this issue but I've been trying to trail though literature for MHC I kinetics in Macrophages and came across this, there is some evidence available to suggest that MHC Class II expression is cell cycle dependent in macrophages: http://www.jimmunol.org/content/165/11/6364.full.pdf might be a useful starting point for you.
A lot of it is going to depend on the macrophage population you are studying as splenic Macs, thio-elicited peritoneal macs, and BM-derived Macs will have their own kinetics in regards to MHC-II expression.
shedding of MHC molecules... Actually, MHCII positive cell percentage increased by IFN gamma during flow cytometric measurement. MHC II MFI or median FI decreased.
