I have received M14K cell line as a gift and I would like to know how can to grow them (media, flask type, seeding density), if they can be transfected and what transfection agent should I use.

I found a good paper from In vivo 2013 that outlines how they grew the M14K cells.
It looks like they grew the cells in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM), supplemented with 10% FBS, 2 mM glutamine and Ticarcillin (200 mg/ml).

M14K (human mesothelioma) which is a tumor cell lines and it can cultured with the specific medium of RPMI-1640 (Sigma Aldrich) medium with 10% FBS (Fetal Bovine Serum, GIBCO). Cell culture can be conducted in 250 mL flasks in order to get a sufficient number of cells (4 × 10^6 cells for M14K) with optimum pH (7.2 - 7.4). Start processing the cells after getting the confluency of 90% which can be obtained after 24h - 48h of incubation in the medium.
RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with 10% FCS, 100 U/ml penicillin, 100 mg/ml streptomycin, and 0.03% L-Glutamine at 37°C in a 5% CO2 atmosphere.
