this is a reaction with citrate modified gold nanoparticles,thiolated probes and genomic DNA. First, i'm not sure for what reason you use thiolated probes, and second which is the mechanism behind the result you observed?
I know that ssDNA stabilized the gold nanoparticles, so that they don't aggregate, and dsDNA can't do this, so the gold nanoparticles aggregate.

Thiolated probe binds with Salmonella genomic sequences 3-dimensionally and binds with NP which results in aggregates --> colour change
In the absence of binding interaction between non target genomic DNA and probe - NPS are unable to aggregate which remains without any colour change
thanks for answer! exactly, i wanna know what happen when the thiolated probe bind to the DNA find the nanoparticle? how the genomic DNA bind to the thiolated probe mediated the aggregation?
