I am planning to use two plasmids harboring two sequences under the control of two different promoter, T7 and araBAD. My aim is to cotransform Ecoli strain with these two plasmids so that the cells will have the two plasmids inside. For expression, I need to induce one plasmid with IPTG and the other one with arabinose. Are the inducers compatible? Does anyone know if there are any drawbacks by working in such a way?

in theory there are not problems in term of compatibility beetween arabinose and iptg, however to exploit the properties of both promoters you need to use a E.coli strain that carryng the T7 polimerase (therefore a (DE3) strain or similar) but thet is also is not able to metabolize arabinose, therefore carryng the araB mutation ,which is not normally present in the standard BL21(DE3) strains for example.
The only strain tha i know (but probalby there are others) commercially available that can work in this direction are BL21AI of Thermo, otherwise you can try to insert the T7 polimerase using the (DE3) insertion kit in other araB strains as Top10, DH10B
