Hi everyone,
I want to introduce in the scan head of the microscope two laser lines (different lasers). One is already aligned with the system and I need the other one to follow the same path. The problem is the mirror in between that blocks one of the lasers.
That is why I am trying to find a solution and something that reflects what comes front the front and refracts what comes from behind, could work.
This is the only thing I can think of. Any other ideas are more than welcome.

I would use a dichroic mirror but the problem is that one line is 467 nm and the other is a group of lines, around 3-4, from 457-476 nm. So I cannot really do the distinction to use the dichroic.
That is why I asked if by any chance there was something I do not know about that reflects something completely from one side and refracts from the other one, independently of the wavelength.

The thing is that I am doing FLIM Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging) so far, and I want to do FRAP as well at the same time so I need to combine both lasers. For doing FRAP (Fluorescence Recovery After Photo bleaching) the power of the laser is important and I need a minimum to be able to bleach it.
I tried initially to couple some lines of the Argon ion laser into my single mode optical fibre (old fibre that was knocking about in the lab). I wanted to get as much power as possible from its output (that is why I asked the other question referred to optical fibres). But the alignment of the fibre into the scan head of the microscope was driving me mad so I decided to couple the CW laser into the scan head of the microscope following the same path as the other one (pulsed laser).
you can try using a mixing multimode fiber, and align all the lasers through that.
it will decrease the brightness a little bit.

I was wondering if you could help me with, hopefully, a last question.
At the end I will couple two lasers (467 nm and 473 nm) following the same lightpath. I am trying to find a 470 nm dichroic in order to reflect the first laser and transmit the second one. I cannot find any that 'narrow' and I wonder if they, in fact, exist.
Another option would be a normal beamsplitter but well, I am curious about the dichroic.

Hi Peter. We want both lasers to reach the sample with the same polarisation, so I will possibly use a beam splitter 90:10, as the dichroic is too expensive...
Yes, I know, with the new laser we should be able to afford it, in theory, let's see what happens in the practice :)
