I'm doing nonlinear static analysis to investigate cyclic behavior of a connection. when i use Quadratic type in mesh module to my model it takes too longer time than Linear one, and when i use finer mesh it can not finish the analysis and gives the error that i mentioned it above.
how can i solve this problem?
Well, this error indicates that your solution is unable to converge,..and that for each increment defined in your step a lot of iterations have been made....
it's hard to tell why your model isn't converging, without looking at your exact problem,...Anyhow this question has been posted before, you might want to check them out!

what's your mean from tolerance value?
on the other hand, when i use linear element to meshing, i don't have this problem. but when i utilize Quadratic element this error occurs, especially when the mesh size is finer.while in the both linear & quadratic, the analysis is nonlinear static, and my material behavior curves are same in the both,too.by the way, my model materials are steel & concrete.
when i use larger mount for minimum increment size the error massage occurs earlier.
You can First of all check your Material Properties. Then, if material properties are correct, check interaction properties and if interactions are also ok, then finally try to mesh your model in parts by making partitions. The area of loading should have finer mesh. And if you are getting same error again, then try to remodel your problem.
