As I need to compare the PXRD of the synthesized MOF-2 along with the reported data, it would be a great help if I can get the cif. file or the X/Y data from a known publication of MOF-2.
MOF-2 is a planar coordination polymeric structure, with paddlewheel-like two-nuclear Zn2(CO)24 Secondary building units (SBUs) and terephtalate linkers. Two axial solvent molecules (DMF) are also connected to SBUs, so in MOF-2 there are 5-coordinated zinc atoms.
MOF-5 is a high symmetry 3-dimensional coordination polymer, with 4-nuclear Zn4O(CO2)6 Secondary buildin units and terephtalate linkers. In MOF-5 zinc atoms are 4-coordinated. The surface area of MOF-5 is much more higher, than MOF-2, but MOF-5 is highly water (moisture) sensitive. All of them are zinc terephtalate frameworks, but they are so different.
