If you want to buy and use a new sequencing platform, I would only recommend you the cheap and best in the market yet, which is Oxford Nanopore. It is highly potent to read extremely long reads and error rates are also comparable to other sequencing.

Thank you both for your help. Anna, it would be largely used in fresh tissue and cells. We will be running screening for the same set of genes; several hundred genes per sample. We are basically looking for expression levels via the transcriptome and mutations from the genomic digest to cancer related genes on a wide variety of cells. After some additional research, I think Ion Torrent is going to be the most effective method for our applications.
