Does anyone has experience with halogenated DNA oligo functionalization?

Hi there,

I am currently working on performing nucleophilic displacement on 8-bromo-adenosine containing oligo with benzylbromide. However, the only product that is isolated from HPLC is the unreacted 8-bromo-adenosine oligo. The reaction condition I was using is 65oC in EtOH/NEt3 solution for 4.5 hours.

If anyone has experience on that, please let me know.
