I recently came across an Mphil thesis, which I found absolutely AI-generated and completely paraphrased, making no sense. Even, not a single sentence of its abstract was meaningful. I think theses and article write-ups have become a game of the days. It not only has affected readership interest, but also has it caused a lot of the fake content. Have your say in this regard.
AI can be very useful when you put together your research or sketch the first versions of your papers. However, using AI should comply with the ethical standards of the university a researcher is part of. In my personal view, I would welcome using AI in more spheres of research, since if controlled, it can considerably speed up the whole process.
The main thing I would add to Michal Místecký s response is that the use of AI needs to be thoroughly cited. I see all too many replies here on RG which simply plug in a response from an AI without crediting the source, which I think sets a bad example.
It may not be an actual reputable graded MPhil from what you describe :)
La ética del profesional está presente en toda acción que realiza. La IA es una herramienta importante en el momento actual y no se le puede atribuir el mal uso que se haga de esta. Su óptima utilización constituye un reto más para la sociedad actual, en la que la educación y los valores pareciera que van perdiendo el rumbo. Los educadores debemos reorientar el camino.
