I think religious days and celebrations are still good ways for enhancing kinship and friendship. There are many examples supporting this statement. These days Muslims celebrate al-Adha (sacrifice) ritual/feast. They travel to see kins and friends. They also enjoy sharing (donating) the portions of scarified animals. Christmas days are also great days for sharing gifts and kind words among families and friends.
Dear El-Sayed El-Aswad and Hassan Syed thanks for your answers. I'm agree with both of you. My aim is to evaluate the religious days in accordance with their purpose, today and in the future as in the past.
Traditional religious celebrations are occurring cross-culturally through out the world as parts of their culture. Belief in God is personal and it is natural for humans to have their religion of belief or disbelief and it must be supported by the nation.
I think religious days TODAY are the best occasions to revive and enhance social bonds between people whether hey believe in the same religion or not. Tolerance is very important here.
We enjoy these religious days along with our families, kids, friends & even with people of all other religions. Definitely, these days have significant roles to enhance kinship & friendship and to nourish congenial & healthy communal relationship in the society as well.
Religious and cultural days bring together large family members and friends who live between distances. Today, due to intense working conditions and cultural assimilation, the enthusiasm of the religious days is not experienced.
For those who cannot travel to see beloved kins and friends during religious days and ceremonies, electronic communication (SMS, Internet, phones, skypes, social media among other e-devices) plays a significant role in cementing the relations between people in this highly globalized world. Technology is appreciated in this regard.
Yes, I believe that religious days really strengthen friendships, cooperation, love and brotherhood and increase the strength of human relations between individuals and societies because they are days of joy that everyone meets
I think that one of the main problems in social relations these day is denying people's rights to believe and practice religiously. Tolerance is needed to understand the beauty of human diversity in cultural and religious background.
Yes of course dear professor Illhami , because the religious days really do that all through purifying our souls and clear our mind from jealousy and from all the other bad fealings , and it open our hearts to all people ... and for us as Muslims it is very obvious during the days of Ramadan , Omrah , and in Haj days .
