Are ethics committee approvals necessary for each country, separately?
You usually need ethics approval from each institution taking part in the study.
I guess you need it from each country in the study due to their having different legal arrangements, regulations and cultural dynamics.
By Nigerian Standards and I believe research ethics everywhere demands that even local studies that span more than two centres require National Health Research Ethics approval and not institutional.
If this is the case with local studies, how much more of international studies.
My opinion is that such studies require independent ethics approval from each country's national research ethics boards.
