Do you recommend teachers should regularly monitor students’ language development with weekly assessments and observation checklists?
Assessment is an on-going process where the teacher is to evaluate students' progress regularly, and only at the end of the course. The results of this assessment are indicator whether the goals of the teaching process are achieved or not.
Yes it is good and periodic and has a benefit at the level of demand .
but it is really demanding for teachers of large classes. better to have peer-feeback as well as teacher feedback
Reflective teaching presupposes assessment and evaluation. These processes provide the teachers with an invaluable feedback by which they can pave the way for remedial work and the fine tuning of their course outline in particular situations.
