P. bohemica is a false morel, but Morel hyphae can form a variety of other structures, including sclerotia, mycorrhizae, mycelial muffs, and sporocarps.Anyway , I dont know any paper that explains the presence of sclerotia in P, bohemica, now....I have the same question
I did not find any sclerotia when collecting Verpa conica or V. bohemica, and I do not know literature dealing with such experience. But who knows? In the case of Morchella species, the sclerotium is often deeply buried in the soil.
