I am trying to decide on the best way to precipitate some high-volume, low concentration DNA samples that I have. Most protocols I have seen recommend using sodium acetate, and adding 0,01M MgCl2 for samples with low concentration, which would be my case.

However, Yi et al (Article A Systematic Investigation of Key Factors of Nucleic Acid Pr...

) saw a decrease in yield when using NaAc and MgCl2 together compared to using them separately. Does this mean I would be better off using MgCl2 only?
