I want to know the observations of scholars who have developed Azoxymethane and Dextran sulphate sodium induced colorectal cancer in mice. There is a significant risk of mortality from Azoxymethane as per the dose mentioned in the literature i.e. 10mg/kg. What dose should I administer to the mice (BALB/c - 8 weeks old) for inducing tumors with high incidence among all the groups with low mortality. Is it always necessary to administer a single injection of 10mg/kg or we can divide the dose in 5 mg/kg in first week and then giving a remission period of one week followed by the administration of another 5mg/kg dose.
