Cellulose acetate filters dissolve completely in acid solutions, so if you have a good quality with sufficient porosity - say 0.45 µm - and strength, then total dissolution can be achieved for a range of for instance metals in aerosols, followed by ICP-MS analysis. Check here for more information:

Cellulose acetate can contain metals like iron. In any case, when using a filter that is not familiar, you need to test for leaching of metals from the material by filtering a blank in the matrix your samples will be in. Also, always filter a standard of , again in the sample matrix, to be sure that you do not lose the analyte(s) of interest.
Those two steps upfront can save lots of rework later!
