Dear Professors and Experts,

I was doing an experiment to measure the recovery rate.

I want to spike 1 ppb after the dilution of soil in 10000 times, so I was spiking 1 mL of 10 ppm heavy metals (HM's).

Firstly, I took 0.5 gr soil in a vessel and then added 1 mL HM's then diluted with HNO3 Concentrate 10 mL and go to the digestion process. After that, I diluted it in 5 times, filtered, and finally diluted in 200 times.

Normally, without spiking, the formula to get mg/kg is

mg/kg = ppb x 10 x 1000/ gr x 1000

If I spiked it with 1 mL 10 ppm of HM's, does it change the formula?

Thank you very much
