Cryostat sectioning on a cell pellet?

Hey everyone,

I'm just getting started on an undergraduate research project focusing on lipid accumulation in liver cells. An article I'm using to design my experiments have used HepG2 cell pellets to get cryostat sections to perform Oil Red O on, and my advisor has never heard of the use of cell pellets for this method before. I looked it up and I was only able to find this paper who describes this process:

Has anyone done such a thing before? I would appreciate all help! Thank you!
