The coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a grinding halt and no doubt has altered the lives of each one of us. I think COVID-19 also has an impact on our normal research (i.e. related to our relevant field) and diverted us to work on various aspects of coronavirus to help combat the virus.

@Chinaza Godswill Awuchi.. I agree with you sir.. the unwanted diversion probably is more inclined to just get publication being a hot topic to publish.. The factual is far beyond imagination and the actual scientific contribution is very limited or negligible.
For the year 2020, Corona virus pandemic is the 'hottest topic', a talk of the country, and a talk of the whole world. As a researcher, I am facing a great loss as my research activities have come to a halt, but can do nothing, just observe the situation and hope for the best.

Coronavirus affected not only human health but psycho-social domains too. Yes we can hope for vaccine and better drugs to control this pandemic. Till then we can follow safety guidelines like wearing mask, using sanitizers, doing yoga and exercises, video conferencing for teaching.
The pandemic unfortunately has had an impact on every one of us. Hence we had to turn our attention on Covid, due to the practical implications. Even in medical field, Covid has catered to varied experts, namely the disease epidemiologist, infectious diseases specialist, virologist, internal medicine intensivist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, etc in the sense that the implications of the disease involve multispeciality panel at every level from diagnosis, management, prevention, community health, etc.
Also, Covid's pandemic effects have inflicted sore wounds on not just lives but livelihood as well. Nations struggle with the challenges in economic setback, and now engage in restarting the 'broken down' system.
In short, Covid has forced us into taking a closer look at us.
