Could you do the same research for national conference presenters as another area of exploring the gatekeepers of information?

Going by Gidden's theoretical perspective, I doubt conference presenters and information gatekeepers could come under the same category. Conference presenters are self-serving while gatekeepers are normally by appointment. At its core, the difference relates to motivation. Of course, I think conference organizers makes a better choice.
