Could someone suggest me literature assessing the Geier's D-I-S-C model (1989)?

I'm currently validating some questionnaires based in DISC model, I wish to know if it's a philosophy or evidence-based instead. I'm interested in literature critically discussing the model rather than a statistical analysis of the questionnaire. Is Geier's theory a fad?
