According to USP and BP, soybean casien digest medium is prepared by dissolving 30 gram of the dehydrated ingredients in 1000 mL purified water. We need to prepare high amounts of this medium in large tanks. Thus, high accuracy cannot be affored ( the final concentration may be more or less than 30 gram per litre).
To what extent inaccuracy in w/v ratio could be acceptable for preapreing a valid medium?

Hi Mohamed,
in large volumes I doubt the concentration is really critical. You are making up a 3% carbon source which is standard for heterotrophic media. If it is 2.5 % or 3.5 I don't think it will make much difference. (The bacteria /fungi won't be able to tell the difference). Probably a weaker medium is of less worry, as higher concentrations may affect the osmolarity of the solution.

but you can try medium with +/- 2gm, 3gm and 5gm per litre at small scale.
If it goes well try it at large scale.
