Hi there,
We are about to purchase a sliding microtome for cutting frozen rodent brain sections.
For freezing the specimen, we are going to use a physitemp freezing stage rather than a dry ice tray.
Right now, we are in between;
*Leica SM2010R (manual)
*Thermo HM430 (manual)
*Thermo HM450 (motorized)
We have limited budget and we do not want to spend more for fancy fetaures that we will never use.
The issues we do care about is: price/performance ratio, in addition the consumables should be cheap and accessible.
Pricewise, Leica almost doubles the HM430 although both are fully manual, so not sure it is worth or not, while the HM450 is semi-automatic, but do not know too much about it.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks is advance
