Hello, I need help with the Mannich Reaction with formaldehyde and NH4Cl to obtain cationic coagulant. My tannin extract is exactly the same as the one that came out of removal, has anyone used it like this? I need to exchange an idea.
It is told that tannin extracts have been successfully modified using the Mannich reaction for wastewater treatment. For example, tannin extracts from Acacia mearnsii and Schinopsis balansae have been modified with formaldehyde and dimethylamine hydrochloride to create effective coagulants. These modified tannins have shown good results in color and turbidity reduction when used in combination with other additives like cationic polyacrylamide.
