I'm synthesizing emulsion polymers via core-shell technology, but I face problems during the synthesis as I find large amounts of coagulation in the form of sand-like particles. Why do they form, and how can I avoid them?
Kothapu GOPAL Reddy "I'm already using a mix of anionic and non-ionic surfactants on the core part.
The particles started to form after the seed stage finished and during the feeding of the core pre-emulsion, and they kept forming throughout the entire reaction." So do you mean to add non-ionic surfactants to the reactor charge and core pre-emulsion both?
First add non ionic surfactants in pre emulsion , after adding pre emulsion is dispersable and stable ,then that pre emulsion add slowly in to the reactor with long time stirring.
