Hi community, I have been looking for what happens to marine communities during storms and hurricanes and what effects they could have, unfortunately most of the papers focus are about the economic impacts, is there any author or paper that you guys could recommend? Thank you for your time.

James Locasio and David Mann have a paper on fish calling rates before, during and a hurricane in Florida, USA. Fish were back to normal pretty quickly. There is a literature (see Andrew Garey) on flooding and freshwater invertebrates.
I did a study in the 1980s/90s on fisheries development in India: It became evident that during the cyclone season fisherpeople often could not go out fishing due to unsuitable weather. For these days fishermen and their families saved money to bridge days / weeks without income. The Fisheries Department of Tamil Nadu even came up with a saving scheme that provided some support for fishermen and their families for this part of the year. If you are interested I can provide some more information as well as literature.....

I am aware that recorders were deployed underwater during recent hurricanes in Puerto Rico, but has not been published as far as I am aware.

1. most of the community they can predict the the situation before the calamities (that type of sensory they have and this types of research going all over the world) and they start to move from safe region
2. some of can face the situation and to recover
3. some might be die

Eels gather on the shore just before an earthquake hits.
Not completely related: when I was an oceanography graduate student in Narragansett, RI, I was driving home and saw a pelican. Totally freaky since at that time they were not common in Virginia. Charlie Blem, a bird person, told me it likely flew north to avoid a storm heading up the coast.
