I think that solid homogeneous section is sufficient if material name and thickness are only shell parameters needed.

Thanks for your answer. My question is when we design part as shell 2D deformable in abaqus, while assigning a section we cannot assign shell and we should choose solid homogeneous. I cannot exactly understand why we should do that?

I think I understood. 2D Planar Deformable part is intended for plane stress or plane strain analysis, not for shell analysis.

Yes. However, the base feature in abaqus is shell.
