Hi Peter can you describe your settings and the version of the software that you are using?

I have used the chemi, chemi hi resolution and chemi hi sensitivity settings and the specific version of the software is i believe the latest one from biorad (cant remember specific name but its different to the previous quantity one software that was on the xrs) as we updated about 2-3months. (perhaps there has been a software upgrade since then im not sure). when i look at the images from my blots between the chemi doc mp and those obtained from the xrs I prefer the images obtained with the xrs. Biroad have described the differences between the two machines in their pixalation count and other aspects but for the purposes of the HRP chemiluminiscent detection as an end user i would prefer the xrs. For the uv system the chemi doc mp works fine in my opinon and i have not used the flourescent visualisation system that is possible with the chemi doc MP and so i cant comment on that. Probably most people will not have experienced using both models so it may be a bit difficult to get other users experiences. i have relatively recently moved labs and so was able to able to see the notice the differences.

Thanks for the feedback Peter, Sorry I am so late to reply. I would suggest getting Imagelab 4.1 installed on your instrument. We had noticed that due to the increased sensitivity the camera was able to pick up some artifacts. The new version accounts for some of this and should help with the image quality.
