I need to get a rough idea of what a gfp-tagged protein looks like at endogenous expression levels as opposed to overexpressed. The protein that gfp is conjugated to is irrelevant for my purposes. Does anyone know of a cell line available for purchase?
Hi Jeff, I have expressed GFP-tagged protein in mammalian cells like (HEK293T cell line). You can transfected your plasmid using transfection reagent and can detect your GFP. Hope it helps.
thanks Faiz. I'm looking for endogenous expression. I transfect cells with gfp tagged proteins routinely. I believe when you transfect a plasmid, the protein is always overexpressed unless you spend considerable time engineering your plasmid and titrating the amount of plasmid you use for your transfection to achieve endogenous expression levels.
